How to Check the Condition of Your Differential Oil

If you are driving a four-wheel-drive then your car has both front and rear differentials. Even though a car with two differentials could mean more cost when servicing it, you can minimize these costs by ensuring your differentials are always well lubricated.

To check if your differentials are well lubricated, open up the filler plug then use a dipstick by dipping it in the hole filler. Remove the dipstick from the hole to see the oil condition and the oil level as well. You can also put a tray under the differential and open the drain plug. As the oil is collected in the tray, you will be able to tell the condition of the oil.
